Mason Jar Blueberry Crumble Recipe (2024)

This Mason Jar Blueberry Crumble Recipe for Breakfast is perfect for people like me, as you can make it ahead of time and stack them in the fridge, just whipping them out when you feel that first pang of hunger.

Now, they have always said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day...but I am not really a breakfast person.

I know, I know, it's awful, right? I just can't stomach eating early in the morning.

I don't typically begin to get hungry until around 10.

Don't get me wrong, sometimes I do wake up hungry, it's just very rare!

What Is A Blueberry Crumble?

There are a lot of different names for recipes like this - cobbler, crisp, and crumble - but what do they mean?

A cobbler is like a pie. There is sugar fruit filling in the bottom, and it is topped with a sweet drop biscuit dough. Some versions use a cake-like recipe for the topping.

A crisp has a streusel topping instead of cake or biscuit. It's made from butter and oats. A crumble also has a crumbly topping, but instead of using oats, it uses flour, sugar, and butter.

This tastes just like blueberry pie! You will love the sweet and crispy topping and the sugary blueberry filling underneath.

Even though that's the technical definition, in real life people use crumble and crisp interchangeably. I call this a mason jar crumble or a single-serving crisp!
