Synopsis
One robot's 200 year journey to become an ordinary man.
Richard Martin buys a gift, a new NDR-114 robot. The product is named Andrew by the youngest of the family's children. "Bicentennial Man" follows the life and times of Andrew, a robot purchased as a household appliance programmed to perform menial tasks. As Andrew begins to experience emotions and creative thought, the Martin family soon discovers they don't have an ordinary robot.

I don’t think there are any other actors that I miss more than Robin Williams.

29/100
Robin Williams being gone from this world makes me want to see Bicentennial Man in a different light, especially because much of the narrative centers around the aching sickness of morality and the eventual desire to succumb to it, but this bland late-90s Chris Columbus/celebrity vehicle is godawful in the most routine, plodding way. IMDb has the running time as 2 hours and 12 minutes, but I don't believe that for a f*cking second. It begins as a simple family drama, sidetracks into an existential study, and ends in the tone of a love story, and all of it is terrible. "WE HAVE PERSONALITY!"
Wow.This is a movie about a robot trying to get a penis so that he can f*ck his adopted daughter. This movie is about woody Allen. And I could not stop laughing at it. An absolute mess.
Sickeningly schmaltzy, thematically incoherent, arguably racist, and utterly baffling. Well worth a watch, or the creation of a drinking game.

If I were alive for 200 years that would give me so much more time to do important things like be a good person, help others, eat right, cure...
Actually now that I think about it, I'd probably just use that extra time to watch all the movies. -
