Dollar Tree has so many awesome products for gifts, party supplies, seasonal and holiday decorating, office supplies, arts and crafts projects, kid’s toys, stocking stuffers, and items to stock up your kitchen on a budget!
There are so many fun things to find up and down the aisles of Dollar Tree. I find something new every time I go!
And just a quick note to keep in mind: Not all Dollar Tree stores are the same. I visit several in my area that are completely different and keep different items in stock. Some have better arts and crafts sections, some have better choices with organizing items, and some have a lot more food than others. So, you may want to visit a few to see which store has the best selection.
Dollar Tree is the best store. It’s seriously so simple to shop there. Everything is the same price, $1! Can it get any better than that?!
What can you get at Dollar Tree?
Dollar Tree really has a huge assortment of household items, craft supplies, and fun and practical products. And it seems I discover something new every time I go!
Anytime I need to shop for craft supplies, party supplies, holiday décor, or gifts, Dollar Tree ismy first place to check out.
They always have a seasonal section with holiday items or different items for the upcoming season. There is a great selection of greeting cards and party supplies.
I really love their arts and crafts aisle, organizing section, and the kid’s aisle. Dollar Tree also carries a great selection of office and school supplies, kitchen essentials, and some basic pantry and food items.
What are the best things to buy at the Dollar Tree?
This is the place to go for frugal gifts, stocking stuffers, supplies for craft projects, items to fill a gift basket, office supplies, and so much more!
These are my favorite finds and things to buy at Dollar Tree! I could probably add more to this list every time I go!
1. Greeting cards
Dollar Tree has a section of cards 2 for $1 and some for $1. Much cheaper than the $5 cards at the grocery store that will just get thrown away!
They have cards for all different holidays and occasions! I like to go at the beginning of the month and buy cards for the next month or two.
2. Tissue paper
They have bags of plain white, or assorted colors. Perfect for making tissue tassel banners!
3. Gift bags
They have a huge selection of cute gift bags for any occasion, and multi packs of brown kraft paper bags!
This is the only place I buy gift bags from! You may have to visit a few stores to see which one has the better selection of gift bags.
4. Tablecloths
Why spend more than $1 on a plastic tablecloth that you are going to throw away? They have a lot of colors to choose from and all of the coordinating party supplies, too!
Dollar Tree organizes these by color, so it’s easy to find what matches your party theme. They also have a small selection of baby shower and birthday plates.
You can get everything you need for a party here and save a lot of money!
6. Holiday decor
The front of the stores are updated frequently with holiday decorations and seasonal items. I love browsing through this area!
It’s fun to decorate for each holiday, and it’s pretty affordable to do so thanks to $1 decor!

7. Candles
Great for gifts or craft projects! Each store should have a selection of different size and scented candles.
These are great to add to a gift basket, too!
8. Thank you notes
Packs of cute thank you notes for only $1! I love to stock up on these and keep them on hand to write thank you notes.
These would be cute stocking stuffers for girls and women, too!
9. Organization bins
I wish our store had a bigger aisle of organization bins, but I can usually find what I need.
Check multiple stores in your area to find the best selection! I’ve seen some stores with a huge selection of plastic organization bins and baskets. Check during the back to school season for different baskets and bins, too!
These picture frames are usually cheap quality, but great in a pinch! I use these for craft show displays or spray paint the frame for parties or showers!
11. Ribbon
Dollar Tree usually has a great assortment of holiday ribbon, and check on the candle aisle for plain colorful ribbon. Great for crafts!
During the holidays, they will have some ribbon in the holiday decor section, too! I love to pick up some ribbon for $1 to add to gifts or different decor around the home!
12. Shipping paper (brown kraft paper)
I love keeping this on hand for wrapping presents or if I need to ship something.
You can do a lot with this paper! It would be fun to wrap the dining table with this and let the kids draw on it with crayons for a fun dinner!
13. Shipping envelopes
These are the cheapest shipping envelopes I have found. They have multi packs of 2 or 3 envelopes in different sizes.
14. Poster board
Get white poster board 2 for $1 for crafts, school, or yard sale signs. I have occasionally seen yard sale and garage sale signs and stickers, too!
15. Paint brushes
I love using these cheap paint brushes when I refinish furniture in a rustic way. That way I’m not worried about messing up a nice brush, and I can just throw them away if they get too bad.
These would be perfect for kids to use for craft projects!
16. Candy
The theater box candy make great little gifts and stocking stuffers! These can be a fun surprise for kids or your spouse, too!
You can wrap these with ribbon and a gift tag for office gifts, or add them to a gift basket!
17. Faux flowers
Grab a few each season to update your home décor! You can add these to wreaths or use them for different craft projects, too.
18. Balloons
Inflated balloons are just $1 (way less than a party store!) and bags of balloons you can inflate are just $1! You can get everything you need for a party here!
19. Baker’s twine
On the craft aisle, they have packs of 3 rolls of colorful baker’s twine for just $1. I love these for craft projects and gift wrapping.
These would be a fun stocking stuffer for girls, too!
20. Stocking stuffers
This is the place to go for stocking stuffers! You can fill a stocking full for cheap.
You can find great stocking stuffers for men on the automotive, office supplies and snack aisle, things for kid’s on the craft, snack and toy aisle, and great stocking stuffers for women in the stationary, snack, home decor, and craft aisle.

21. Craft supplies
They have a small craft supplies section, usually on the candle aisle, but look a little further and be creative with what you can use!
You can find some great supplies for different projects to do with your kids or for the holidays. Check the seasonal section, too!

22. Kitchen utensils
If it’s something simple like a spoon, strainer, measuring cups, or cutting board, why pay more than $1?
You can add several of these to a basket for a housewarming basket, or for gifts for friends or coworkers.
23. Bag clips
At the checkout, they have the best bag clips in a pack of 6 for $1! These hold better than any I have found.
24. Foil pans
Perfect for parties, freezer meals, or carrying food to a get together. My store has a great selection of different sizes!
25. Donation items
Grab items for Christmas shoeboxes, school supply drives, canned food drives, winter accessory needs, and women’s hygiene items.
There are tons of great items that can be donated from Dollar Tree.
26. School supplies
They have a great selection of school supplies! Definitely look during back to school time, and the office supply aisle has a great selectin year round.
27. First aid kit supplies
Get your basics for a first aid kit to keep at home, in your car, and in your purse.
28. Puzzles
They have a lot of different puzzles and crossword search books.
These make fun gifts for any age!
29. Classroom decorations
Dollar Tree has a great selection of stickers, reward items, and decorations.
You could put together a basket for a new teacher or as a teacher’s gift!
30. Coloring books
Perfect for stocking stuffers, charity drives, and little surprises for the kids.
Grab a box of crayons for a fun little gift for little ones.
31. Lightbulbs
They have a lot of basic household items, like lightbulbs and batteries.
32. Calendars
Dollar Tree usually has a great selection of cute calendars. Why spend more than a $1 on these?
These make a great gift for teachers or coworkers!
33. Tumblers
In the kitchen area, they have the plastic tumblers with straws. Grab some candy or gum, stick inside with a gift card, and you have a great little gift!
If you are crafty, you can find a lot of blank tumblers and items to add vinyl stickers too for personalized gifts!
34. Plates, mugs, and glasses
A great price for everyday or seasonal dishes!
You can change up your table decor for each season with these frugal prices!
35. Streamers
A great place to shop for party decor, like streamers in many colors!
36. Yard sale stickers
Having a yard sale? Grab your price stickers here! I have also seen yard sale and garage sale signs, too!
37. Popcorn buckets
On the same aisle with the plates in my store, they have individual popcorn buckets. Perfect for a game or movie night at home!
You can even make this a little gift with candy!
Update: I’m adding lemon juice to this list! It’s over $2 at most other grocery stores, and I love lemonade, so I’ve been grabbing lemon juice here! 🙂
